A small, honest cookie policy.

Essential storage keeps NeatTake working. Optional analytics runs only when you allow it.

Effective October 6, 2026

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies can keep a session active, remember security state, or store a limited preference on a device. Local storage keeps data in your browser until it is changed or removed; session storage keeps temporary data for a browser session.

What NeatTake currently uses

We use essential cookies or similar storage when needed to authenticate you, maintain a secure session, complete Google sign-in, connect the desktop app, and protect the website from abuse. These functions may not work correctly if essential storage is blocked.

Local preferences remember your theme and analytics choice. We save your choice even when you decline so we can respect it on later visits in the same browser.

If you allow analytics, PostHog uses local browser storage to associate page visits and explicit feature events with an anonymous identifier or your NeatTake account ID after sign-in, plus session storage for temporary session information. PostHog is not loaded before you allow analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking.

What analytics tracks

Website analytics counts visits to supported pages, download clicks, successful waitlist joins, and opening checkout or the billing portal. Browser Studio records when you start an import, recording, or export. Events include time, page labels where relevant, and anonymous or signed-in account identifiers. They do not include full URLs, query strings, form contents, email addresses, or the media you create.

There is no session replay or automatic capture of page contents, clicks, errors, or logs. Read the Privacy Policy for the complete event details, desktop tracking, and recording permissions.

Third-party services

Google may set or read cookies when you choose Google sign-in. A checkout provider such as Stripe or Polar may use its own cookies after you open its checkout. Those providers control their cookies and explain them in their own privacy or cookie notices.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out or prevent account and checkout flows from working. Choose “No thanks” to keep optional analytics off, or “Allow analytics” to enable it. Use “Analytics preferences” at the website footer to change your choice anytime. Your consent choice is stored locally even when you decline. We also honor browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

Website analytics is off until you allow it. Declining does not affect your account or Studio. To reset your saved choice, clear this site’s local storage; this may also reset other local preferences. Choices are specific to each browser. The Mac app has its own separate Share usage analytics setting in General settings, and screen, microphone, or camera permission does not enable analytics. Desktop startup failures, renderer crashes, and window recovery are reported separately for reliability, even when usage analytics is off. These reports do not use browser cookies or include your account or media; see our Privacy Policy.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our use of browser storage changes. Questions can be sent to support@neattake.com. You can also read our Privacy Policy.
